Build Your Own Website Training FAQ

Here are the key details before you book your BYOW training.

Each session runs for 2 hours for the 1 page website and 3 hours for the multi-page website (9:30am to 12:30pm).
You can choose between:
2 sessions to build a one-page website
4 sessions to build a three-page website plus a blog, or a five-page website without a blog.
Sessions are usually completed over one to two weeks.
We can be flexible and find appropriate days and times that suits us both.

One Page Website

  • 2 sessions (2 hours each)
  • Build your first page and learn the fundamentals
  • $290

3 Pages + Blog

  • 3 sessions (3 hours each)
  • Build your core pages and set up your blog, or 5 pages with no blog, if that’s the package you’ve chosen.
  • $675

Both options are hands-on. We build your site together while you learn how to do it yourself.

To make the most of your time, you will receive a short pre-session checklist.

This includes:

  • Choosing your colour palette
  • Selecting your fonts
  • Preparing your logo (optional, if you have one)
  • Gathering images for your website
  • A short questionnaire about your business and the services you offer. This gives us everything we need to get the first website draft created by AI.

Completing this pre-session checklist before your first session allows us to focus on building your pages during the first session rather than setting everything up from scratch.

At the end of your first session, you’ll have your draft website with pages and placeholder content that can be edited and refined over remaining sessions.

All sessions are held at my home office in Nambucca Heads.
You will need to bring your own laptop so we can work directly on your website.

Yes.

Your website will be set up on our hosting to ensure everything works smoothly and remains easy for you to manage.

  • Hosting starts from $30 per month (up to 5 pages)
  • 6 to 10 pages: $40 per month
  • 11 to 15 pages: $50 per month

You will also need your own domain name. If you do not have one yet, I can help you set one up. Domain names are typically $30 a year. We’ll connect it to your website for no extra charge.

You do not need to start paying for hosting while we are building your website in training.

Your site will be set up on a temporary domain first, so we can focus on building and learning without rushing the launch.

Hosting only begins once your website is ready to publish on your own domain name. At that point, you will receive your first hosting invoice.

When your website goes live, your first month of hosting is free. Ongoing hosting is then charged quarterly based on the number of pages on your site.

We’ll build your website using WordPress with a professional theme and page builder.

We’ll also use AI where it helps, especially for creating first drafts of page content and structure. The important part is that AI is not left to make every decision. You’ll learn how to review, edit, and refine the site with human judgement.

The pro versions of the website tools are included at no extra charge while you remain a hosting customer.

We will build your website on a temporary domain during the training.

Once your site is ready, it will be connected to your own domain name.

This training is suitable for beginners as well as people who already have a website but want to properly understand how to use it. You don’t need to know how to design a website or write perfect content before you start. We’ll use AI to help create the first draft, then work through the practical editing and refinement together.

Once you know how to build, edit, and refine pages, you can continue improving your website yourself.

You can use AI to help draft new pages or content ideas, then use the skills from the training to shape those drafts into pages that suit your business. You can also add additional pages over time, within your hosting plan limits.

The real value of this training is learning how to take that first draft and refine it. We’ll look at the layout, wording, images, calls to action, and page structure so the site works for your business, not just as a generic AI-generated version.
